Concorde

(lyrics by Bill Goldschmidt, music by Joe)

I was sitting on a beach (I think it was the South Pacific)
Where it is, I can’t be more specific
   But I can tell you:
   I was really far away
The waiter says my bill’s been paid by this lovely young widow over there
Waiter warns: I should beware!

Wait a minute – what’s that you say? I just missed my stop?

I’ll be late… trying to find a place called paradise
Only find it in my mind
Moonshine and sunshine – no watch to keep the time
I could just live my life
And if I can help myself, I might steal a ripe grape off the vine
And no one would be sore, or kick me out the back door
I could just live my life

I was sitting on a plane called the Concorde
It’s a fast way to the south of France
   And I should tell you:
   France is very far away
The waiter says my bill’s been paid by that scary emaciated model over there
Waiter warns: I should beware!

Wait a minute – what’s that you say? I just missed my stop?
